EZT Pesa Elf 2, EN62A-102 = 21WEa.
Pesa Elf trains are Polish Electric Multiple Units (EMUs), designed for regional traffic. The trains have been built since 2010 at the Polish Pesa factory in Bydgoszcz. “Elf” is an acronym for “electric low floor.” Pesa Elf trains are manufactured with varying numbers of cars, from two to six. Equipment, seating layout, number of toilets, etc., also vary.

The Elf train family includes the following models: Type EN62 = 21WE, Type EN76 = 22WE, Type EN96 = 34WE, and 27WE for the Warsaw SKM (Fast Urban Railway). In addition, ETZ trains designated Acatus II and Acatus Plus were built. Type EN77 = 32WE Acatus II – 4-carriage. Type EN64 = 40WE Acatus Plus – 3-carriage. Type EN99 = 41WE Actus Plus – 2-carriage. By 2020, over 120 Pesa Elf trains had been produced.
Pesa Elf trains are powered by 3 kV DC electric traction. The train is 2.88 m wide and 4.28 m high, with the length depending on the number of cars. The design speed of the Elf trains is 160 km/h, although the first unit was designed for 120 km/h.
In 2017, Koleje Podkarpackie ordered three Elf 2 trains: EN62A-101, EN62A-102, and EN62A-103. Each train consists of three cars. Two Elf 2 trains, each with four cars, were also ordered. The contract also included training for mechanics and technicians, as well as maintenance from level P1 to P4.

The train consists of three carriages. Each carriage is equipped with a single pair of doors. This arrangement foreshadowed the train’s operation on routes with low passenger flows. All doors are located in the low-floor area, with retractable steps underneath to facilitate boarding from platforms lower than 0.55-0.76 m from the railhead. The first and last bogies are type 26MN driving bogies with a 2.80 m wheelbase. The middle bogie is a type 40AN Jacobs-style trailing bogie with a 3.00 m wheelbase. Each bogie has double suspension. The first stage consists of steel springs. The second stage consists of air springs. Hydraulic shock absorbers are installed for additional vibration damping. The driving and trailing bogies are designed and manufactured by Pesa. MF 50-29-4 (400 kW) asynchronous motors are used. The engines are Austrian-made. The asynchronous electric motors are inverter-controlled. The train has two Stemmann current collectors. The braking system is Knorr-Bremse.
A raised floor area is located above all bogies, accessible by stairs or ramps. The three-step stairs are located only above the driving bogies. The wheel diameter is 0.85 m. The train has a wheel flange lubrication system, only for the first axle of the driving bogie. The train can operate in multiple traction. Up to three trains can be connected to form multiple traction. The trains are Class 2. The passenger compartment includes two closed toilets and a space for passengers with limited mobility, large luggage, or bicycles, with lifts for disabled passengers located near the doors. There is also a larger toilet for disabled persons and passengers with small children.
The car bodies have a three-dimensional structure made of steel with closed profiles. The bodywork is 1.5 mm thick and made of steel, while the front of the vehicle is made of plastic.

EN62A-102 = 21WEa.
Pesa 21WEa, EN62A-102, Serial number E737BNA005, was built in October 2017. EVN: 94 51 2 140 943-3 (PL-PREG A), EVN: 94 51 2 140 945-8 (PL-PREG C), EVN: 94 51 2 140 944-1 (PL-PREG B). On November 21, 2017, the first test runs and driver training took place in multiple traction at a speed of 160 km/h on the Rzeszów-Dębica route together with the EN62A-101 and EN62A-103 trains. The recipient of the EN62A-102 train was the Marshal’s Office of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The operators are Przewozy Regionalne, PolRegio, and Podkarpackie Koleje Aglomeracyjne. On December 4, 2017, three trains: EN62A-101, EN62A-102, and EN62A-103, were officially unveiled at Rzeszów Główny station. Their green, white, and blue livery is typical of Koleje Podkarpackie.
