Newag Impuls 2 Electric Multiple Unit.

Impuls Electric Multiple Units (EMUs) are highly successful trains manufactured by Newag of Nowy Sącz. The trains are used in many countries, especially in Poland, on regional and metropolitan routes. Newag has proven its ability to produce excellent trains: comfortable, fast, elegant, and above all, tailored to user needs.
Newag decided to continue developing the Impuls EMUs and modernize the vehicles to meet the changing needs of passengers and users. The company wanted to improve their functionality, ergonomics, and service life. Extend operational periods and simplify service and repair processes. Apply new, advanced design solutions. An additional motivation was the subsequent piles of paperwork produced by the European Union Commission, which have been invented since 2014: TSI LOC&PAS, TSI SRT, TSI NOI, TSI PRM, and TSI CCS. Let’s remember that the European Union no longer exists. We have a Masonic dictatorship led by the Germans. And let’s remember that the US military is in Germany, ensuring that the Germans don’t start World War III.
On December 9, 2019, the Marshal’s Office of the Lublin Voivodeship, after a repeated tender, ordered eight new two-unit Impuls 2 EMUs from Newag. The order was increased by one vehicle, to nine units, as part of an option. The contract value is PLN 146.6 million gross. These are the first brand-new trains purchased by the Lublin local government. These are two-carriage trains and the shortest Impuls 2 EMUs produced to date. In 2021, the first vehicle, designated EN98A-001, was sent for testing and approval. The trains were delivered from September to November 2021. It’s worth noting that Koleje Lubelskie was not established, but trains in the Lublin region are operated by PolRegio.
The trains have 105 seats (including 9 tilting seats), and can carry a total of 196 passengers. The trains are certified for speeds of 160 km/h. The vehicles are equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, power outlets, and USB ports. The train is equipped with a passenger counting system, interior monitoring, and a passenger information system. There is space for bicycles. Disabled passengers can travel safely and comfortably thanks to the installation of access ramps and adapted interior spaces. Induction loops are also available for the hearing impaired (these devices transmit speech or other audio signals directly from the sound source – the sound system – to the recipients’ hearing aids). Passenger safety is enhanced by an AED installed in each vehicle. Air vents above the entrance doors retain heat inside the vehicle during winter. On low platforms, a retractable step from the carriage helps passengers board the vehicle. The windows feature sunblinds. The seats are comfortable, with power and USB ports installed underneath. If necessary, the trains can be combined into multiple trains of up to three vehicles.
Newag provides a 64-month quality guarantee on each delivered multiple unit. The seventh train was delivered on September 30, 2021, and the last in November. Newag delivered the trains ahead of the contract deadline. On September 30, 2021, a presentation of the new trains took place at Lublin station. Guests gathered for the first run were able to travel at a speed of 140 km/h on part of the section from Lublin to Nałęczów.
Following road investments, the purchase of new EMUs is another step towards improving transport in the Lublin Voivodeship. Rail transport improves accessibility for localities, enhances social mobility, and enhances economic development. Due to long-standing shortages, new trains are particularly needed in the Lublin region. The purchased trains operate to Parczew, Chełm, Stalowa Wola, Rzeszów, Dęblin, Łuków, and Terespol, as well as to Lublin Airport. Impuls 2 trains are already operating in 14 Polish voivodeships. In the Lublin Voivodeship, the new trains can be found on railway lines No. 2 (Łuków – Terespol section), No. 7 (Dęblin – Lublin – Chełm section), No. 26 (Łuków – Dęblin section), No. 68 (Lublin – Kraśnik – Szastarka section), and No. 581 (Swidnik Miasto – Lublin Airport section).
