Wagon type 175A-10, B9mnopuz (Z).



In recent years, the InterCity carrier has acquired a significant number of modern passenger cars manufactured by domestic industry. Among them are type 175A-10, B9mnopuz (Z) cars. These cars are Class 2, non-compartment, and capable of traveling at a speed of 200 km/h. These cars were manufactured by the H. Cegielski Rail Vehicle Factory in Poznań.
In February 2018, Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych H. Cegielski signed a contract with PKP InterCity for the delivery of 55 passenger cars. In May 2019, the contract was extended to include an order for an additional 26 cars, totaling 81 cars. The total order value is PLN 697.3 million.
The new cars were unveiled in September 2021 at the TRAKO trade fair in Gdańsk. In December 2021, PKP InterCity began accepting the first eight type 175A-10, B9mnopuz (Z) cars. All cars were delivered by the end of 2023.
The 81 ordered carriages included: 27 Type 175A-10 Class 2 open-compartment carriages; 7 Class 1 compartment carriages; 27 Class 2 compartment carriages; 10 Class 2 open-compartment carriages with bicycle spaces, each equipped with 8 bicycle racks; and 10 Class 2 compartment carriages adapted to transport passengers with disabilities.
The new carriages are fully compliant with the Technical Specifications for Interoperability, which enable efficient and effective travel on the trans-European rail network. They are designed for a speed of 200 km/h.
It is also worth noting that in December 2019, FPS completed the delivery of 90 modernized Type 174A passenger carriages, previously designated Type 111A. The contract was completed five months ahead of schedule. The value of that contract was PLN 410 million.
In November 2020, PKP InterCity and FPS took delivery of 10 modernized dining cars. These cars were based on the Type 145Ab, non-compartment cars. This contract was worth PLN 61.3 million.
Wagon type 175A-10, B9mnopuz (Z).
The 175A-10, B9mnopuz (Z) carriage is a second-class, non-compartment carriage equipped with 72 seats. The seats are arranged in a 2 x 2 configuration with a central aisle. Half of the seats face one direction, the other half face the other. The first four seats at each end are designated for passengers with bicycles. These are seats no. 11, 13, 17, 15, 92, 98, 94, and 96. The carriage also features large tables for passengers sitting opposite each other. At both ends, the passenger cabin begins with luggage racks and bicycle racks, four at each end. There is additional space for larger suitcases. The carriage has two closed toilets, two electrical cabinets, four sliding doors, and a passage door to the next carriage. The gangways between the carriages have been equipped with a new connecting system that is safer and more acoustically and thermally soundproof. The carriage is air-conditioned, has LED lighting, amplified WiFi signal, a visual and voice passenger information system, and has 230V sockets under the seats. The carriage dimensions are: length 26.4 m, width 2.825 m, height 4.05 m. The speed is 200 km/h. The body is painted in the colors of the InterCity carrier. The bogies used in the 175A-10 (B9mnopuz) carriages are type 25AN, designed for a design speed of 200 km/h. The bogies are equipped with a diagnostic system and a vibration damper system. The bogies are painted gray as standard. Thanks to modern suspension and improved acoustic insulation, these carriages are among the quietest in the Polish rolling stock.
